Step 1: Sign up or log in to Google Merchant Center, complete your business information, accept the terms, and click on Create Account.

Step 4: Navigate to the Authentication tab.

Step 5: Click on + Create API Key.

After the key is generated, a file named content-api-key.json will be downloaded. Open this file and copy the necessary fields into the Catalog Edge console.

Step 6: (Optional, in case the status is disabled)


If the status is "Active", the process is complete. If the status is "Disabled", click Action and select Add User.

Mandatory Attributes for Google Shopping
 

  • Channel
    The channel refers to the specific platform or sales medium through which you sell your products.
     

  • Content Language
    The content language attribute in Google Shopping indicates the primary language of the product feed content. This helps Google correctly display your products to the appropriate audience in the right language.
     

  • Description
    The description attribute refers to the detailed information about the product. This is important because it helps potential buyers understand the features and benefits of your product, aiding in their decision-making process.
     

  • Item Group ID
    The itemGroupId groups similar variants of a product, such as different sizes, colors, or materials, into a single listing. These variants share the same function but differ in specific attributes.
     

  • GTIN
    The GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is a unique identifier for products, often displayed as a barcode. It helps to differentiate each product and ensure consistency in tracking and listing.
     

  • Offer ID
    The offer ID is a unique identifier assigned to each distinct offer of a product. This could represent a specific variation like a certain color or size of the product.
     

  • Target Country
    The target country attribute specifies where your product is available for sale. It helps Google determine which users can view the product and what pricing and shipping details to show them.
     

  • Title
    The title attribute specifies the product’s name. This is crucial as it is used in search results and can significantly affect click-through and conversion rates.
